Muslim Polygamist Convicted of Abusing Children and Wives

June 12, 2008

A Riverside County jury found polygamist, Mansa Musa Muhummed, guilty on 25 counts, including torturing seven of the children, abusing 12 of them and falsely imprisoning the wives. Muhummed could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Muhummed, who was born Richard Boddie, told authorities that being Muslim gave him the right to be polygamist. In 1999, after one of his wives, Laura Cowan, slipped a 13-page letter to a postal service worker describing the abuse, he was arrested. His trial started last month after nine years of persistent legal issues, such as changing lawyers four times (which includes representing himself for more than two years).

In the course of the trial, several of his children and stepchildren took the stand, testifying that they had been beaten, starved, strung up by their feet and forced to eat vomit and feces. Muhummed testified in his own defense, sometimes tearful, denying the charges and blaming one of his wives for the alleged abuse.

Justice is served.

Obama On Limbaugh Hearing The Whitey Video Rumor

June 12, 2008
Lie:

On May 30th, Rush Limbaugh said he had heard a rumor that a tape exists of Michelle Obama using the word “Whitey” from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Truth:

No such tape exists. Michelle Obama has not spoken from the pulpit at Trinity and has not used that word.

Lie:

Blogger Larry Johnson wrote on May 31st that he would add “New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.”

Truth:

Johnson posted no such update.

Lie:

Proven GOP sleazemeister Roger Stone said on Fox News on June 1st that “there’s a buzz, which I believe now to be credible, that some indelible record exists” of a tape of Michelle Obama using the term “whitey.”

Judge Suspends Smut Trial Over Porn On His Personal Site

June 12, 2008

Alex Kozinski, the chief judge of the country’s largest federal appeals court, is more accustomed to appearing on lists to fill U.S. Supreme Court vacancies than headlines involving pornographic scandals. On Wednesday, he was forced to suspend an obscenity trial he was presiding over after sexually explicit images posted to his family’s Web site became public.

The Los Angeles Times had an article claiming that Kozinski had posted sexual material on his personal Web site and then blocked access after being interviewed about it Tuesday evening.

Kozinski told the Times he thought the material on his site, which included a video of a man mingling with a sexually aroused farm animal, couldn’t be seen by the public. The judge said he didn’t believe any of the images were obscene. “Is it prurient? I don’t know what to tell you,” he told the newspaper in reference to the question of the obscenity of the images. “I think it’s odd and interesting. It’s part of life.”

Yale Kozinski, the judge’s son, told the newspaper the next day that the site is registered and maintained by him. It is intended for friends and family. “The fact that it was publicly accessible actually is my fault, too,” the younger Kozinski told the newspaper. “I made a mistake in configuring it.”

After both were interviewed. it was not at all clear who, father or son, who posted the images in question, but it was clear the judge did not find them obscene. The judge suspended temporarily until Monday the trial of Ira Isaacs, who is charged with obscenity for selling movies depicting bestiality and extreme fetishes involving feces and urination.
