Paul Newman “Doing Nicely” After Rumors Of Lung Cancer

Read HERE about Paul Newman passing away after a battle with lung cancer.

Film critic Shawn Levy offered what amounted to a blog eulogy of Paul Newman. The always dynamic Levy is penning a biography of the iconic 83 year old Paul Newman who was last heard in the Disney/Pixar animated hit feature film CARS but come on… he starred in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, The Hustler, Cool Hand Luke and everyones favorite Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid with Robert Redford.

Though I don’t know Mr. Newman Levy was correct calling Newman a mensch not because he gets paid a small fortune to pretend to be other people or because he’s been with his beautiful wife actor Joanne Woodward for 40 years but because his food line has generated more than $200 Million(U.S.) in charitable proceeds. YES, a person who cares about other people and at $200 Million that’s caring about a whole bunch of people. THANK YOU!

Lung cancer kills about 1.3 million people a year worldwide. With treatment the survival rate past 5 years is 14% (so says Wiki).

With the blogs buzzing about his failing health Newman’s publicist Jeff Sanderson released a short statement on behalf of his client saying “he is doing nicely”. Unfortunately he did not deny the rumor which leads us to believe Mr. Newman is in a much more unfortunate position. We wish you all the best, we thank you for your talents and more than that we thank you for helping many many others.
