Apparently, the Austrian House of Horrors was NOT one-of-a-kind. In Argentina, a 73-year-old man fathered two children with his young daughter and kept her as his sexual prisoner. He was just sentenced to serve 16 years in prison himself.
Prosecutor Sergio Antin said the case of Eleuterio Soria had similarities to that of Josef Fritzl, the Austrian man arrested last month for locking his daughter in a basement for 24 years. “If we’re talking about sexual subjugation, and we take into account that the victim did not leave the house, yes, there are similarities”.
The trial revealed that the abuse of his daughter began in 1992, when she was only 12 years old. The following year, after becoming pregnant by her father, her mother left their home in La Matanza, a working-class Buenos Aires neighborhood. The family’s remaining five children eventually left, too.
The daughter, whose name was not released, had a second child by her father in 1997. Unlike Fritzl, Soria used psychological domination rather than physical restraints to keep her in the housem including but not limited to threatening her babies at gun point. This was the only thing that would bring her back on the occasions she feld the home.
Her final escape came in 2003, which was followed by her denouncing her father to authorities.
